Dr. Malcolm Sewell
Nashville native and co-founder of Belmont Animal Hospital, Dr. Sewell attended undergraduate school at The University of the South at Sewanee and then graduate school at The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. Since earning his degree, Dr Sewell has spent most of his time practicing in Nashville, with a brief stint in Asheville, North Carolina. His medical interests include internal medicine as well as soft tissue and some orthopedic surgery. When not in the office, Dr Sewell enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors, preferably with his wife Frances, his two sons Charlie and Freddie, and his dog Mikey.
Dr. Baker Eadie
Dr. Eadie was born and raised in Nashville. He graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine after a brief stint in the horse racing industry in New York and Kentucky. He lived in North Carolina for a few years after veterinary school and returned home to Nashville in 2007. His medical interests include soft tissue surgery, dermatology, and preventative medicine. Dr. Eadie and his wife spend their free time chasing their two boys who spend their free time chasing their chasing poor cat.
Katy McClain
Katy is a native Nashvillian who loves all animals. She has three dogs, herself. From a 140 lb English Mastiff , to a 40 lb Heinz 57 gray dog, to a growing Goldendoodle puppy, she takes time to love all “her babies.” In the past she has had such pets as mice, guinea pigs, a bearded dragon, and even a California King Snake, so her knowledge of the animal kingdom is varied. Katy has been working at Belmont Animal Hospital since it opened and she looks forward to sharing her animal stories with you. Her dream job was always to work at a Veterinary Hospital and now she gets to live that dream each day, helping animals and people.
Joseph Granato
Joe was born in Alabama but has made Tennessee his home for the last few years. He has an animal science major with a biology minor from the University of Tennessee. He has eight years of experience working with animals in a wide variety of fields. In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor activities and fly fishing. Currently, he cares for Winston, his six year old boxer, and Joulez, his six foot red tailed boa constrictor.
Sina Rhodes
Sina was born in Maryland and grew up in Georgia. Starting in childhood she developed a passion for animals, including dogs, cats, chickens, geese, an opossum, turtles, and lizards. Her professional career began as a veterinarian assistant in 2004. While living in Michigan, Sina graduated with a degree in Veterinary Technology and received her Veterinary Technician license in 2007. Now in Nashville, Sina and her husband take care of their energetic boxer, Brandy, and their talkative persian, Finnegan. She loves her new home in Tennessee and is proud to be part of the team at Belmont Animal Hospital.
Becky Locklair
Becky was born and raised in South Carolina and moved to Nashville with her husband in 2008 after graduating from the University of South Carolina. She grew up working with horses, goats, pigs, dogs, and cats, and she thoroughly enjoys the continuation of that work at Belmont Animal Hospital. She has a full house with her boxer, Jager, her toy poodles, Gracie and Lilo, and her crazy cat Tootie.
Libby Thorndike
Libby was born in Montana, but has lived here in Tennessee for thirteen years. She is a current student of biology and chemistry at Belmont University with hopes of going to vet school after college. She has known since a very young age that she wants to work with animals, and she loves the opportunity she has at Belmont AH to get hands-on experience in her future field. Besides working with animals, Libby enjoys traveling, backpacking, and running.
