Rachel O’Rear, DVM

Dr. Rachel O’Rear joined Belmont Animal Hospital in September 2025. She grew up in Nashville and developed a love of animals early on by spending summers at her grandparents’ horse farm in Pegram, TN. Her love of veterinary medicine solidified once she got her first job at a veterinary clinic in high school.

Dr. O’Rear attended the University of Tennessee (GO VOLS!), where she earned both her undergraduate degree and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating in 2018, she completed a small animal rotating internship at BluePearl Franklin, where she developed a strong interest in emergency medicine which she practiced until transitioning to a general practice in 2022.

Dr. O’Rear has enjoyed building long-term relationships with clients and their pets. Dr. O’Rear is dedicated to creating individualized care plans for each pet and takes pride in working with families to ensure the best possible outcomes. While she enjoys all aspects of internal medicine, she has developed a special interest in senior pet care, helping cats and dogs live out their golden years in comfort and good health.

Dr. O’Rear and her husband, Russell, share their home with two dogs, Cash and Abby, and two cats, Henley and Neyland. Outside the clinic, she enjoys traveling, hiking, and paddleboarding.
