Dr. Baker Eadie
Born and raised in Nashville, Dr. Eadie discovered his interest in veterinary medicine after working with race horses in New York and Kentucky. He went on to attend the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. His medical interests include soft tissue surgery and dermatology. When not working, Dr. Eadie spends his time outdoors with his wife and two boys.
Dr. Malcolm Sewell
A Nashville native, Dr Sewell received his undergraduate degree from The University of the South in Sewanee and his veterinary degree from The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. Outside of the office, Dr Sewell enjoys spending time with his wife and two boys and their two dogs, especially if they're stomping around outside getting some fresh air.
His medical interests include internal medicine and particularly soft tissue surgery.
Dr. Molly Smith
Growing up in small town west TN, Dr. Smith dreamed of being a veterinarian from an early age. After earning a BS degree from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, she completed her graduate school work at The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine.
While she enjoys being in a general companion animal practice, her specific medical interest include soft tissue surgery and preventative medicine.
Dr. Sarah Zika
Dr. Sarah Zika was born and raised in Nashville and attended the University of Richmond for her undergraduate degree. After serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in West Africa, Sarah attended the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine for graduate school.
Dr. Zika's professional interests include veterinary public health, infectious diseases and preventive medicine. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her dog outside at the park or lake.
Dr. Judith Howell
Dr. Judith Howell was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. After graduating from Davidson College, Dr. Howell obtained her doctorate of veterinary medicine from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Howell’s professional interests include all aspects of small animal medicine, especially preventative medicine and senior pet care.
When not working, you will likely find Dr. Howell doing something outdoors, spending time with her kids and pets, or attending one of her children’s sporting events.
Dr. Bailey Nelson
Dr. Bailey Nelson hails from Grand Rapids, MI. After completing her undergraduate degree at Central Michigan University, Dr. Nelson obtained her doctorate of veterinary medicine from Michigan State University in May of 2021. Dr. Nelson has been involved in veterinary medicine since 2014 working in various areas of a hospital from reception to veterinary assistant. Her professional interests include leadership & development with an emphasis on client communication, behavioral medicine and surgery. When she is not working, she enjoys training sessions with her Belgian Malinois, Mowgli. She also loves exploring Nashville with her husband, traveling, cooking, and attending concerts.
Dr. John Mays
Dr. John Mays joined Belmont Animal Hospital in October 2022. Born in Nashville and raised in Franklin, TN, Dr Mays has always called middle Tennessee home. After graduating from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2016 (Go Vols!) Dr. Mays returned to Nashville to be close to family, and to be part of the excitement in a quickly growing city.
Like many veterinarians, Dr. Mays thoroughly enjoys preventative medicine and finding ways to keep pets as healthy as he can through routine care. He has interests in soft tissue surgery and working-up internal medicine cases but has a special interest in diabetic patients as he is a type 1 diabetic himself. He loves that every day in practice is a little different. He enjoys both routine wellness visits and the unusual workups that require out-of-the-box thinking and finds fulfillment in helping people take care of some of their most precious family members.
When he isn’t saving lives, Dr. Mays enjoys running, traveling, and spending time with family including his wife, his two dogs, Henry and Samson, and his cat, Riff Raff. He and his wife love to cook together and like to think they have perfected the at-home pizza.
