Dr Ruzena (which means Rose) Pack grew up in Nashville but spent some time in New England where she completed her bachelor’s degree in animal science at the University of Connecticut. Her heart longed for the south, which is why she headed down to Mississippi State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, completing her doctorate in 2017. It was when she came home for an internship that she fell in love with emergency medicine.
Dr Pack decided to become a veterinarian after working as a veterinary technician where she was inspired to be as good as the doctors that surrounded her. They encouraged her to keep learning, taught her patience and that medicine truly is an art.
She practiced emergency medicine for nearly eight years before joining our team and is looking forward to a refreshing change with urgent and primary care. Her goal is to help fill the gap between primary care and the local emergency hospitals to facilitate excellent patient care, as well as fulfill her passion for building relationships with her clients through continuity of care and client education.
When Dr Pack isn’t here at the hospital, she is gardening, baking (especially with sourdough) and practicing Krav Maga. She shares her life with her husband, Greg, and together enjoy spending their free time watching ice hockey and soccer; unless of course they’re spoiling their two mutts, Ranger and Sadie.
